A Prayer for the Sisterhood of Women

Gracious and loving God,

You created us in Your image— male and female— and within You we find both strength and tenderness, justice and mercy, the fierce and gentle love that nurtures all creation.

We thank You for the gift of sisterhood among women— for bonds that reflect Your own caring heart, for the ways we nurture, support, and walk alongside one another as an echo of Your love for us.

We thank You for the women who have shaped our lives— sisters by birth, by friendship, by faith— those who have taught us, carried us, challenged us, and loved us.

But Lord, we also bring before You the places where sisterhood feels fragile or far away.

We pray for the women who have longed for a child and have known the deep ache of waiting, loss, or unfulfilled hope. Hold them in Your tender, mothering care.

We pray for those who have been wounded— by harsh words, by broken trust, by abuse or neglect. Wrap them in Your healing presence and restore what has been harmed.

We pray for women living on the margins— overlooked, unheard, unseen— remind them that they are fully known and deeply valued by You.

We pray for those who have never known the gift of sisterhood— who feel alone, disconnected, or uncertain where they belong. Draw near to them, and lead them into relationships of care and belonging.

And Lord, we pray for ourselves— that we may reflect Your image more fully: that we would nurture as You nurture, love as You love, and stand with one another in grace and truth.

Teach us to be sisters who lift one another up, who reach across differences, who walk together through both joy and sorrow.

Bind us together, O God, with cords of compassion, strength, and love that come from You.

With gratitude and hope we pray. Amen.
