Gracious and patient God,
we confess how quickly we move—
how often we rush ahead, certain we know the way,
and how rarely we stop long enough to listen.
We fill our lives with noise,
with plans and worries and endless striving,
and still find ourselves unsure, tired, and searching.
So meet us here, Lord—
on this quiet riverbank.
Teach us to be still without fear.
Teach us to wait without frustration.
Teach us to listen for Your voice
that does not shout, but gently guides.
When we doubt what we’ve been given—
our strength, our story, our faith—
remind us that nothing placed in our hands by You is wasted.
When life feels tight and difficult,
when the path ahead seems too narrow
and the task too hard,
help us remember what You have already taught us.
Let Your voice rise within us:
“This is the way. Walk in it.”
Give us the courage to trust You,
the patience to keep learning,
and the faith to take the next step—even when we feel alone.
And in all things,
help us to know that You never leave us on the riverbank
without Your presence going with us.
We pray this in the quiet confidence of Your love.
Amen.
