Guided Prayer: Lifting Up, Letting Go

This is a short, guided prayer to help you settle, breathe, and become aware of God’s presence

Behind those voices, there is a quiet place that has always been with you—a place untouched by fear, expectation, or demand. The mystics call it the still point of the soul. It’s the place where God whispers softly, and your True Self listens. Let me help you find that place.

Find a seat and bring your hands to rest in your lap. Take a slow breath in, and lift your hands slightly, palms facing upward. Let yourself feel the voices in your mind—acknowledge them, let them come fully into awareness.

Now breathe out, and lower your hands slowly, palms facing downward. Let the voices pass, releasing them into God’s care.

Again, breathe in… lift and let come… notice the voices. Breathe out… lower and let go… release them gently. One more time, lift and let come… lower and let go… Each breath, each movement, a prayer of letting in and letting go.

Now, rest your hands in your lap, close your eyes or soften your gaze. Bring your attention to the still point behind the voices. Let the presence of God fill this quiet space. Listen. Rest.

When you’re ready, take one last deep breath.
Open your eyes.

May you remember, as you go back to your day, that you are not alone at the table.
